Hello
Hello and welcome to Sunshine After Storms, a space born from the journey through the complexities and beauty of blended family life, and parenting in general. My name is Lindsay Gould, and I'm the heart and soul behind this community. As a mom/bonus mom of seven incredible children, my life is a testament to the power of love, resilience, and the continuous pursuit of harmony within a blended family dynamic.
The Journey
After navigating the challenges of divorce and stepping into a new chapter of life with my amazing partner, our blended family became a living, breathing example of how love can rebuild and unite. This journey hasn't been without its hurdles. From establishing boundaries to ensuring each child feels seen and heard, we've navigated the waters of parenting with intention and grace.
My personal journey has also been marked by a deep commitment to self-care and mental health advocacy. Living with ADHD has taught me the importance of understanding oneself, and surviving trauma has only strengthened my resolve to find joy and purpose in every day.
Our Mission
Sunshine After Storms is more than just a website; it's a community for parents and stepparents striving to build strong, loving, and respectful families. Here, we delve into the essential topics of parental boundaries, the significance of self-care, and the everyday tips and tricks that make parenting a bit easier and a lot more joyful.
Why Sunshine After Storms?
The name itself reflects the essence of the message: after every storm, there's sunshine. It symbolizes hope, renewal, and the beauty that comes from embracing the complexities of life. My goal is to be a beacon of support and inspiration for families like ours, who see the storms not as obstacles but as opportunities for growth and deeper connection.
